Afren plc - An independent oil and gas exploration and production company, founded in 2004. Afren has a rapidly expanding portfolio across seven African countries and has signed an agreement which grants exclusive right of first refusal to acquire its natural gas outputs to African LNG.
E.ON Ruhrgas AG - African LNG has entered into a co-operation agreement with E.ON Ruhrgas and Afren to investigate the availability and accessibility of gas in Nigeria, with a focus on the Anambra Basin and South Eastern regions. The parties intend to develop collect and monetise gas for domestic and export purposes in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Gas Master Plan.
Electricite de France (EDF) –Gasol, Electricite de France and Afren have entered into an agreement to examine establishing a gas aggregation joint venture to identify and develop onshore and offshore stranded gas assets in the Gulf of Guinea. The proposed joint venture intends to develop gas to proven status, construct requisite collection networks to aggregate and deliver the gas to a central gas processing hub for domestic use and / or export to global markets as LNG
Teekay Corporation - Teekay is the global marine services company which owns and operates LNG carriers and other marine energy transportation and production vessels.
In April 2008, Gasol, together with African LNG and Afren, entered into an agreement with Teekay to develop Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”) capacity using floating LNG technologies in North, West (excluding Nigeria) and Central Africa. The group will also seek opportunities to invest in and own LNG ships and regasification terminals, including Floating Storage and Regasification units.
